My name is Philip Cook and I am a qualified Green Badge Guide accredited by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.

 

I work as a ‘step-on guide’, meaning that I will guide you in your own vehicle or hired vehicle, or lead you on a walking tour.

I studied Natural Science at the University of Cambridge and spent my career in the Chemical Industry specialising in Bio-Fuel technology. I remain passionate about the implementation of renewable technologies, which feature large here in Orkney.

I have been a regular visitor to Orkney for over 40 years and have lived here fulltime since 2011. I especially enjoy sharing the love I have for these magical islands. I enjoy wildlife and landscape photography. The open skies and magical lighting of the islands create a wonderful canvas, which has inspired photographers and artists for centuries.
